This platform is inspired by the life and legacy of Charles Taylor — a devoted father who transitioned on November 24, 2020.

My father was the ultimate example of a present and involved dad. He mentored his eight children with wisdom, time, and unwavering support, instilling valuable life lessons while giving each of us the space to grow into who we were meant to be.

Why We Exist

We know not everyone has had access to a positive male role model. Some questions — like how to tie a tie, prepare for an interview, or even just how to handle a tough day — go unanswered for far too many.

That’s why Ask A Black Dad was created.

In honor of my father we built this platform to provide the kind of guidance and support a strong father figure offers — for those who never had one, and for those who simply need someone to talk to.

Our Mission

To mentor, uplift, and empower young people through authentic connection, practical wisdom, and a supportive community. Because sometimes, you don’t need someone with all the answers — you just need someone who’s been there.
